Silk Board Junction: The One Bottleneck Electronic City's New Metro Didn't Fix

Electronic City's traffic reputation used to be simple: the whole Hosur Road corridor was one long queue, worst at Silk Board. The Yellow Line metro changed part of that story. Live since August 2025, it runs fully elevated above Hosur Road with stations at Electronic City and Huskur Road, and a genuine share of the daily commute has shifted off the surface road onto it.

What the metro hasn't fixed is Central Silk Board junction itself. The station there is operational, but the Blue Line interchange is still under construction, so surface traffic through the junction stays heavy regardless of what's happening on the elevated line above it. If you're heading into Electronic City from HSR Layout or Koramangala, build in extra time specifically for that one junction — the rest of the Hosur Road approach has genuinely gotten easier.
