What Actually Happens to Your Deposit After You Return the Car

Renters sometimes assume a security deposit disappears into some black-box review process. Ours doesn't — it's a three-step timeline we can spell out exactly. Day zero: we collect the deposit and photograph the car's condition and fuel gauge at pickup. Return day: we inspect the car against those pickup photos with both of us present, not after you've left.

If there's no damage and the fuel matches, the deposit is refunded to your original payment source within 3 business days of return — that's the outer bound, not the average. If there is a chargeable scenario, it's one of the flat figures on our damage schedule, deducted from the deposit with the reasoning shown to you, not a percentage negotiation after the fact.
